Italian Fashion Houses to receive Bailout

The topic became the theme of Milan fashion week, as designers struggled to pull together collections that defined their take on the economic recession: some were hopeful, others bleak-- it was clear to see that all were affected. The Italian fashion industry is a vital part of their nation's economy. Many people don't take fashion seriously, but it's a lifeblood and a way of life for many people- or around 100,000 full-time employees in Milan. Some of these companies, such as Gucci, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, and Fendi have such a rich historic and cultural significance not only to their native country but to the world as well.

Let's not let the industry die

I'm glad that the Italian government has stepped in to do a bailout of the fashion industry. A lot of the work I did in Milan during the past week, was participating at a conference with other financial groups in favor of fashion companies- so I'm very happy those discussions were used constructively. I'm eager to see what Paris Fashion Week holds.
